APPLICATION
Molded case circuit breakers (MCCBs) are overcurrent protection devices used in power distribution systems to protect circuits and equipment from damage caused by excess current. The SWM1 MCCB has a rated insulation voltage of 800V and is suitable for AC power systems operating at 50 or 60 Hz with rated voltages up to 690V and rated currents up to 1250A, for non-frequent switching. It incorporates overload, short circuit and undervoltage protection functions to disconnect the circuit upon detection of a fault condition to prevent damage to the circuit and connected equipment. According to their rated ultimate short-circuit breaking capacities, MCCBs can be categorized into Type C (basic), Type L (standard), Type M (high-breaking), and Type H (higher-breaking). The SWM1 MCCB is characterized by a compact size, high breaking capacity, short arcing time and vibration resistance. This makes it an ideal solution for land and marine applications.The SWM1 MCCB can be installed either vertically or horizontally. It complies with IEC 60947-2 and GB 14048.2 standards. MCCBs provide fundamental protection for low-voltage electrical distribution systems. They help minimize damage and service interruptions caused by excess currents, thereby improving power reliability and safety. The overload protection function of the SWM1 MCCB prevents overheating and damage due to prolonged overcurrents within the thermal limits of the conductors. Its short-circuit protection activates instantaneously upon detection of overcurrents exceeding its rated ultimate breaking capacity to isolate the fault, limiting damage to components like busbars or cables. Undervoltage protection guards against problems such as overheating, damage, or maloperation that can arise from operation at below a lower voltage threshold.
