Molded case circuit breakers (MCCBs) are a type of electricity speicialtiy circuit breaker, widely used in AC 50Hz power systems below 690V. Its rated current is 1250A or less.
MCCBs have built-in overload, short circuit and undervoltage protection devices to protect circuits and power equipment from damage. According to its rated short circuit breaking capacity, MCCBs can be divided into Class C (basic), Class L (standard), Class M (high breaking) and Class H (higher breaking).
MCCBs are small in size, high in breaking capacity, short in arcing, and vibration resistant. They are ideal products for land and marine applications. Their installation can be vertical or horizontal and comply with IEC60947-2 and GB14048.2 standards.
Thanks to its unique product structure, MCCBs achieve rapid interruption of high currents and short-circuit currents, with excellent electrical and mechanical properties. Its shell is an integral structure made of fire-resistant plastic material, flame-retardant, impact-resistant, moisture-proof, durable. All internal components are encapsulated in the shell through insert molding process, achieving anti-seepage, anti-pollution, weather resistance and longevity.
Compared with other types of circuit breakers under the same rating conditions, MCCBs have higher breaking and withstand short circuit capabilities, faster breaking speeds, lower failure rates of dropouts, and longer service life. This makes them the preferred protection devices in developing power grids and widely used in industrial, civil and commercial power systems.
In summary, MCCBs are a mature electrical circuit breaking technology with characteristics of safe use, high reliability, economy and practicality. They play an irreplaceable important role in the development and protection of power systems.
